VectraCor QRS Unismart ECG

My QRS ECG is black and not blue.

That's fine. The black QRS Universal ECG manufactured after 2012 with the USB end is still compatible on the latest Office Medic software. However it will no longer be supported in the next update and it is recommended to update to the blue QRS Unismart ECG model.

My ECG trace contains interference and has a fuzzy signal.

Interference is typically caused by incorrect accessories or not using the muscle filters during an ECG trace. You must ensure that muscle filters are turned on during the test. This is located on the right side of the ECG tracing screen.

As for the accessories, you must ensure you are using the Sure Lock Electrode Adaptors as the ECG clips. These are the original ECG clips that came with the QRS ECG and will provide the best accuracy in capturing ECG traces. For the Electrodes, we highly recommend using Monitoring Electrodes as it has shown to be the most reliable.

What ECG Clips should I use with the VectraCor QRS ECG?

You must use the Sure Lock Electrode Adaptors. These are the ECG clips that came with your device and should be found in a white packet inside the box.

For replacement Sure Lock Electrode Adaptors, you can purchase them here.

What Electrodes should I use with the VectraCor QRS ECG?

We recommend using Monitoring Electrodes. In our experience, we have found these to be the most reliable in capturing an ECG trace and sticks better on contact.

I am getting a "Leads Off" during the ECG trace.

"Leads Off" errors happen during ECG traces due to the Software not being able to detect any signal from the ECG probes. This could mean a few things:

  • The Leads aren't attached to a patient. All the Leads must be attached for a ECG signal to be detected.
  • Not all the Leads are attached to the patient.
  • Using incorrect ECG clips. You must use the Sure Lock Electrode Adaptors with the QRS ECG.
  • Using Resting Tab Electrodes. You might be able to use them a few times but they're not as reliable as the Monitoring Electrodes.

Please see the image of the QRS Unismart ECG shown. It has the Sure Lock Electrode Adaptors attached on the end as the ECG Clips.

When plugging in the ECG I get a "Cable Not Found" error.

This error means that Office Medic cannot detect the QRS Device.

If QRS Device is not detected by Office Medic but is detected by Windows:

  • Close Office Medic / BP / MD. Unplug the QRS Device. Wait 5 seconds. Plug the QRS Device back in. Wait 5 seconds. Then open Office Medic / BP / MD. The QRS Device should always be plugged in first for a few seconds before attempting a test.
  • The QRS Drivers installed on this PC is corrupt. Will need to be uninstalled and updated.
  • It is possible a USB extender cable is incompatible and is blocking the QRS Device from being detected by Windows.
  • User is on a virtual desktop / remote connection. The QRS Device can only be used locally.
  • Windows may be limiting the amount of USB devices allowed to be in use. Try disconnecting other USB devices and replugging the QRS Device back in.

If QRS Device is not detected by Office Medic and not detected by Windows:

  • The QRS Drivers may be corrupt. Will need to be removed and updated.
  • The QRS Device itself is faulty. Will need to be sent back to us for inspection + repair. Please contact us for how to arrange this.

This error will always need further troubleshooting as we will need to rule out Software / Driver issues first before arrange Hardware inspections.

How often do I need to calibrate my VectraCor QRS ECG?

The QRS ECG comes pre-calibrated straight out the box. It does not need to be calibrated further. You are fine to get it safety checked every year as part of your clinic's tagging procedures.

QRS Orbit Spirometer

I am getting a "Missing Sessions.txt" error when saving my test.

This is a common error and requires abit of troubleshooting to find why. If you get this error through Best Practice / Medical Director, then it means that the Spiro test session didn't get saved to Best Practice / Medical Director. However it is saved directly into Office Medic. You can still access this test session through the Office Medic Application. You may print this to PDF and manually import it into BP / MD.

This error is typically caused by a few reasons:

  • Window's User does not have permission to access Diagnostic Test Data folder in My Documents.
  • Window's User lacks permissions in general.
  • The integration was performed on an administrator's account. Thus non-admin users are unable to access the integration.
  • There is old registry keys that need to be deleted.

We offer solutions to this error. However we will need to remote in to troubleshoot.

How often do I need to calibrate my QRS Orbit Spirometer?

VectraCor recommends calibrating the Orbit Spirometer at least once a year. You can calibrate it yourself using a QRS Calibration Syringe or you can send it to a Medical Device Service Technician.

We recommend U-Tech Medical for all QRS Spiro calibrations.

The Predictors are not showing during the test and in the final report.

During the Spiro test and in the final report, the Predictors should display on the graph based on the patient's demographics.

If it is not showing then it could be for the following reasons:

  • Patient's demographic is outside of the Predictor's parameters.
  • The incorrect Predictors have been set. We recommend using the 2012 GLI Study Predictors.
  • The settings have been changed to not display the labels.

Please note: Only Office medic Version 5.8.2 and above will have the 2012 GLI Study Predictors.

To set this, Open Office Medic > Goto Options > Spirometry > Predictors.
Set Adult First Choice / Pediatric First Choice to 'GLI 2012'.

The graph looks distorted or is inversed.

The graph displayed should be a spiral or slope. If it is anything but this then it could be a damaged pressure tube or faulty mouth piece. You can adjust the F(V) or V(T) buttons to select between graphs.

When plugging in the Spiro I get a "No Device Detected" error.

Do I need a filter for the mouthpiece?

The QRS Mouthpiece does not need an additional filter as it is already filtered as required. The Pressure Tube attaching the mouth piece to the Spiro does not allow any air transfer. It only detects air bounced off the sealed tube end.

However, if you would like an additional bacteria mouth filter on the QRS mouthpiece. Please see the VB Filters.

The Lung age isn't showing or my report is missing fields.

All report / graph displays can be adjusted in the Office Medic settings. Please open Office Medic Application and goto Options.

Office Medic / VectraplexECG Software

Do I need to activate VectraplexECG to use my QRS ECG?

No, VectraplexECG is a separate software package that requires an additional software purchase.

The software that came for free that's included with the VectraCor QRS ECG is Office Medic. You can use your QRS ECG with Office Medic for free. Simply open Office Medic and begin using your QRS ECG.

I need to obtain Office Medic / VectraplexECG Software.

Office Medic / VectraplexECG is licensed software and will require verification first before we can provide you with a download link.

If you require the software, please fill out the ticket form below.

We will check your QRS Device's Serial Number and Software License attached to it and respond back within 24 hours.

I am getting a "SQL Server (OFFICEMEDIC) is not running" error.

This error occurs due to the Office Medic Application not being able to find the SQL Server instance to access the database. Ensure you have started the SQL SERVER (OFFICEMEDIC) service and it is running.

If this instance is not shown in the Windows Services list, then it could be that SQL 2012 / 2022 has not installed correctly if at all.

To resolve this issue, see the following:

  • For Office Medic V5.8.2 or below, then it will be running SQL 2012. However SQL 2012 is now discontinued and unsupported. You must remove all the old SQL 2012 Office Medic files and then install SQL 2022 and create an 'OFFICEMEDIC' instance.
  • For Office Medic V6.0 and above, it should be running SQL 2019 / 2022. Just remove all the old SQL 2019 / 2022 Office Medic files, restart the PC, and create a new SQL 2019 / 2022 'OFFICEMEDIC' instance.
  • Once an instance has been created, ensure to attach the VectraplexECG.mdf database files and configure the appropriate Authentication / Security user access.

We typically perform this troubleshooting for clients. Please contact us to arrange a remote session.

I am getting a "Error Connecting To Database" error.

This means the Database Location that Office Medic is pointed to is unable to be reached or exists at all. Must confirm the true location of the Office Medic database and then uninstall Office Medic, clean registry keys, then reinstall Office Medic.

I am getting a BioPDF / PDF Writer error.

The PDF components for Office Medic is corrupt. Do the following:

  • Uninstall BioPDF, PDF Writer, and GhostScript.
  • Reinstall BioPDF.
  • Reinstall Office Medic.

The error is 1.

Office Medic is corrupt. Reinstalled and clean registry keys.

I am getting a missing "Commands.txt" error when closing the test.

This error sometimes happens when closing a ECG test without saving it. Just ignore it. If it prevents the user from performing or saving then reinstall Office medic and delete the Diagnostic Test Data in My Documents.

Write XML error.

The Office Medic database is corrupt. Unfortunately it's no longer recoverable. Must reattach a blank Office Medic database.

Authentication Error - Login Failed.

The Window's User that is logged in does not have security permission to access the SQL Server (OFFICEMEDIC) instance. Go into SQL Server Management Studio and add this user to the Security group or change the Authentication mode.

Is Office Medic / VectraplexECG compatible with Windows Emulators or Mac?

Unfortunately no. Office Medic / VectraplexECG was designed for Windows PCs. We have not seen a successful Windows Emulator on Mac running this software or being compatible with the Drivers. It may be possible but I haven't seen it.

Best Practice / Medical Director Integration

I am getting a "Content of this image is not in database" error.

This error happens if the user clicks 'Save and print' upon finishing a test and Window's physically prints the test, however then forgets to print it to PDF to save back into Best Practice. We suggest only clicking 'Save' when completing a test.

To resolve this:

  • Remove Office Medic + BP Proxy.
  • Uninstall BioPDF, PDFwriter, GhostScript.
  • Reset Window's printers.
  • Reinstall Office Medic + BP Proxy.

If error persists, please contact us for troubleshooting.

I am getting BP IDevice errors.

Best Practice has another ECG / Spiro linked to their ECG / Spiro function. You must manually reinstall BPDevice and the BP Proxy.

Best Practice - No Device Detected - .NET Framework Error

Most likely the BP Proxy has not been installed.

Medical Director freezes when performing test.

The Office Medic and Medical Director Integration is corrupt. This will require further troubleshooting as is can be caused by a number of reasons. E.g. Corrupt QRS Drivers, corrupt MD files, outdated Office Medic Version, etc.

Test completes but doesn't save into MD.

The Office Medic and Medical Director Integration is corrupt. This will require further troubleshooting as is can be caused by a number of reasons. E.g. Corrupt QRS Drivers, corrupt MD files, outdated Office Medic Version, etc.

MD is unable to find my QRS Device

Close Medical Director and check if the device is detected in Office Medic.

If able to perform a test in Office Medic:

  • Try again in Medical Director.
  • If it fails, it's due to Medical Director storing the old / incorrect QRS Drivers.
  • Reinstall Office Medic + QRS Drivers.

If unable to perform a test in Office Medic:

  • Check if using a USB extender. If so then remove and plug device directly into PC.
  • Check if Device is detected in Device Manager.
  • Reinstall Office Medic + QRS Drivers.

I transferred my MD database to BP, now it's gone.

Unfortunately Medical Director stores Office Medic test locations as Pointers within the Medical Director Database. So when transferring this database to Best Practice, it only transfers the pointers.

Best Practice saves a copy of the test in both the Best Practice Database and the Office Medic Database.

If you are transitioning from Medical Director to Best Practice, please contact us to perform a Office Medic Database backup and transfer.
